Demyia Browning – Piano & Voice

Originally from Las Vegas, NV, Demyia (they/them) studied musical theatre performance and composition at the College of Southern Nevada. Songwriter by trade, they are influenced and inspired by an array of artists/composers such as: Mozart, Chopin, Andrew Bird, Regina Spektor, Lin Manuel Miranda, and Stephen Sondheim.

Demyia has worked as a musical director in Hurricane, UT and has performed on various stages (both as a professional and on a volunteer basis) in both Nevada and Utah. When it comes to teaching, they hope to help build a strong foundation and help any student find their voice as well as develop a passion for music and an appreciation for the beauty of creative expression.

Hayley Richbart – Piano, Vocals, Guitar

Hayley Richbart is a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) with a B.S. in Music

Therapy from Molloy College. She has played piano and guitar for several years and

has had experience teaching adaptive lessons for students of all ages and abilities

in piano, guitar, voice, and percussion.

Hayley loves musical theatre and has performed with various community theatre

groups in the area as well as performed with a few community choirs in the

Buffalo/Rochester area. With her music therapy background, Hayley brings a

person-centered approach to music education as well as a deep love for

music-making with students of all ages and abilities.

Evan Laedke – Piano

Evan Laedke – Piano

Evan’s musical journey began at the age of 14 with Hammond B3 organ lessons taught by Buffalo’s local blues legend, the late great Jim Wozniak. One year later, he was invited to play keys with the legendary Willie May Band (a recipient of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame) and proudly continues as a band member today. While in High School, Evan founded the band, “4inTune”, a young blues based band who played at local venues, were invited to open for national acts and participated in the 2011 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. Over the years, he was fortunate to play with many great Buffalo based musicians including Tommy Z, Black and Blues Band, Code Blues, The Bravarus, The Funky Beets, Rusty Fisher Band, and Forever Young. He joined Miller and the Other Sinners on a national tour and is currently a keyboardist for for the Tim Britt Band. Evan enjoys working with students of different ages. As his journey continues, he looks forward to sharing his craft with other musicians and students interested in learning how to play the keyboard.

Alessia Paolini – Voice & Piano

Italian Soprano Alessia Paolini received her second Master’s Degree in Voice Performance from Houghton College (N.Y.) in 2018. In 2015 she earned a Master’s degree in Voice at the Conservatory of Music of L’Aquila, her hometown, where she also earned a BA in Piano Performance, along with studies in Composition and Conducting. She has performed in France, Sweden, Italy, Austria, and New York. Alessia has been teaching since 2010, privately and in conjunction with various institutions (Kindergarden Diventar Grande, Conservatorio A. Casella of L’Aquila, Houghton College). She loves teaching, and sharing her passion for all types of music with her students.

Joshua Sabo – Drums

Joshua Sabo – Drums

Joshua Sabo is a drummer and percussionist from Arkansas. He began playing drums at the age of seven, and began playing percussion in 7th grade. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Henderson State University and a Masters of Music in Jazz Studies from University of Arkansas at Monticello. Josh has taught drums and percussion to students ranging from absolute beginners to percussion majors in college, as well as teaching an award winning high school drumline. He has performed with the Little Rock Wind Symphony, his rock band Redd Tape, the award winning Jazz One band at UAM, the Jay Sharptet, the Buffalo Jazz Collective Repertory Orchestra, and the Buffalo State Orchestra. Josh loves to teach any age group, any skill level, and any percussion instrument.

Michael Lukasiewicz – Woodwinds & Brass

Michael Lukasiewicz is a clarinet player and teacher from Buffalo, NY. In 2017, he graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, which has given him the skills needed to teach many different instruments, with a specialty in woodwinds and brass. Michael’s main instrument is the clarinet, having studied and performed on many different members of the clarinet family, including bass and contra-bass clarinets. As a teacher, his style is fun, easy going and relaxed, while maintaining a structured curriculum that has clear goals and step-by-step progress based around a multi-level progression. Michael would be an excellent teacher for any student looking to advance their playing, and has worked with students and teachers in many school districts around Western New York.

Mike Slomowicz- Guitar, Bass

Mike Slomowicz holds both B.A. (Canisius College) and M.M. (University at Buffalo) degrees in classical guitar performance.  He has several years of experience in rock and jazz ensembles, as well as in theatre pit bands and classical groups.  Mike has been fortunate to open for a variety of national acts, including KC and the Sunshine Band, The Commodores, the Dave Brubeck Quartet, Billy Sheehan, and SWV.  From 2012-2015, he served as guitarist and musical director for popular lounge performer Lance Diamond.  He is currently performing locally with the Cool Platinum Band (R&B/funk) and DMW Jazz, among other groups.  In addition to guitar, Mike has background in piano, ukulele, and banjo. Mike’s musical influences include The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Carlos Santana, KISS, Andres Segovia, Living Colour, Eric Clapton, just to name a few. Mike is the perfect teacher for advanced students looking to get into Music Theory, classical fingerpicking, or Jazz, however his teaching style can work for students of any age and skill level.

Josh English- Drums

Josh graduated from Villa Maria College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Industry in 2015. Renowned for his high energy, hard hitting playing, and versatility, he is one of the most in demand drummers in the Buffalo music scene.

Currently, Josh plays with acclaimed original rock band Grosh, and the popular cover band Stoneflower. He has played with Buffalo’s elite musicians, including Grace Stumberg, Jillian Eliza, and Maya Satterwhite. He also was part of the popular touring Canadian band The Nursery for a few years. Josh is a busy studio session drummer as well, and has recorded drums on dozens of albums. He’s shared the stage with many national acts including Goo Goo Dolls, Larkin Poe, Gary Numan, The Birthday Massacre, and more.

A great fit for students young and old, Josh will expand your musical horizons, and help you develop your drumming identity.

With well over 20 years of experience playing, Scott is well versed in all genres of music including, classical, jazz, blues, rock, and country. When asked what he loves about teaching the most, “I love the energy of students who are just discovering things on their instrument. Aside from teaching, Scott is also a Rock Band 101 director, providing structured, goal-driven rehearsals to prepare his bands for upcoming performances and also teaches the Ukulele. Scott’s musical influences include Jeff Beck, Tommy Bolin, Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson, Al Dimeola, and Miles Davis. Scott is a great fit for students of any skill level and age, students looking to learn Music Theory, work on original compositions, or any adolescent learning looking to get into our Rock Band program.

Joe is a professional recording artist, performer, and educator. In addition to being one of the founders of two private music schools in Western NY, Boulevard Music Lessons in Tonawanda and Performing Arts located in Depew, NY, he is also director of guitar at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart. His musical repertoire consists of many styles that include blues, folk, classical, rock, country and jazz. Additionally Joe is a Buffalo Music Awards winner and guitarist in the regional country act Bloodmoney. Joe creates smooth and subtle sound textures using both acoustic and electric, guitar (6 and 12 string), banjo, melodica, and bass guitar.
